Marantz SC-5/bb-5 680,000yen(one set, the 1994 release)

The stereo preamplifier manufactured based on the data stored by the developments from PM-80 to PM-15.

In order to prevent an interference with the ill effect, and the power-source part and the main unit of amplifier by the RF noise generated from the microcomputer currently used abundantly at electric products, the battery drive scheme by exclusive power-source bb-5 is adopted.
This is stopping the wraparound of the noise from an AC power source completely.

Newly developed NEW HDAM is adopted.
This is what improved further HDAM which is an accelerating of an analog circuit, and the voltage amplification module of a two-layer substrate developed for high S/N, and has realized the four-layers substrate.
This NEW HDAM is used in eight totals, and this has realized the processing speed of a circuitry, the stability, and S/N on high level.

The gain controller of a preamplifier which evolved further the 4-unit active volume which demonstrates a big effect to the improvement in S/N at the time of a real using is adopted.
A setups of a 1dB unit is possible in 0dB--14dB, and right and left have adopted as a volume what newly developed high-quality sound and a high precision volume.

The phone equalizer corresponding to both of man month/MC is carried.

The chassis construction is designed in consideration of vibration suppression nature.

In bb-5, the lead seal type battery excellent in the robustness and the stability is used.
This battery performs the stable powering while the microcomputer for exclusive use is always supervising the power-feeding status of a battery and raises a life.

The meter which can face a battery voltage squarely is carried in the front panel of bb-5, and the status of a battery of operation can be checked by the eye.

bb-5 carries three DC outputs and one line in this is set up as an output only for SC-5. Moreover, other two outputs can be used at the time of the BTL drive of SM-5.

In order to realize the construction excellent in vibration suppression nature, the aluminum board top cover of the aluminum board side panel of 12mm thickness besides a copper plating chassis and 5mm thickness is adopted.
